Miami Beach, Fla.—Jewelers International Showcase (JIS) saw record attendance at its April 2008 Miami Beach Show, with a 35 percent increase in buyers on the first day of the show alone, the organization reported.
A majority of the buyers came from the Caribbean and Latin America, in addition to U.S. states such as Florida.
JIS' next show is scheduled for Oct. 17-20 at the Miami Beach Convention Center.
The show will be JIS' largest, with 1,500 booths anticipated.
In addition, JIS will debut a new Jewelry Galleria pavilion, with upgraded hard-wall booths coupled with an extra-value marketing package. The new pavilion will now be the largest at the show, joining international pavilions from countries such as Brazil and Hong Kong. Other pavilions are expected to be added in the future.
