Mumbai,
India—Asia's second largest jewelry fair will take place in Mumbai next week, with organizers expecting 25,000 visitors worldwide.
Organized by the
Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC), the India International Jewellery Show (IIJS) is the year's most significant event for India's gem and jewelry industry, organizers said in a statement.
IIJS presents an international outlook along with a platform for visitors to understand the way the modern Indian jewelry-retailing industry is evolving.
Along with numerous buying opportunities, the show will feature networking opportunities, educational seminars, industry-specific events, designer showcases and live fashion shows.
The ABN AMRO Solitaire Awards and the Indian Institute of Gems and Jewellery Vision Awards will also take place during the show.
"Since its debut, IIJS is recognized as a stylish and classy event that is successful in addressing the business and the networking needs of the trade fraternity globally," GJEPC Chairman Sanjay Kothari said in a statement. "It has grown to become a brand in itself on the lines of the Basel and Las Vegas shows."
IIJS will take place from Aug. 30-Sept. 3, and will feature 740 exhibitors and 1,581 booths at Mumbai's NSE Complex, Goregaon.
