Platinum Honors return to AGTA Spectrum Awards
May 19, 2008
Dallas—The 2009
American Gem Trade Association (AGTA) Spectrum Awards will re-introduce the Platinum Honors division back into the competition.
The addition is being made possible through the support of Platinum Guild International (PGI).
"We are very pleased to have the Platinum Guild involved with the Spectrum Awards again," AGTA Chief Executive Officer Douglas Hucker said in a media release. "Many of our entrants enjoy working with platinum and this will provide them an opportunity for increased recognition and exposure."
A Platinum Honors award will be presented in each of the existing six lifestyle categories: bridal wear, classical, day wear, men's wear, best use of platinum, and color.
For entries to be eligible for the Platinum Honors division, each piece must be composed of at least 90 percent platinum (not including gemstones), and the metal must be in accordance with ISO standards. All entries must be received by Sept. 26, 2008.
Winners of the Platinum Honors award in each category will receive a Platinum Honors trophy, which will be presented at the annual AGTA dinner in Tucson in 2009, along with individual value-added media and promotional packages, valued between $8,000 and $30,000, from PGI.
Entry forms and rules can be found at the AGTA Web site,
